PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY
Preventive dentistry is a shared responsibility between the patient and the dental team. Regular daily habits such as brushing and flossing your teeth are an important part of preventing serious dental problems, but they must be supplemented with regular professional care. A trained dental hygienist has the tools and skills to remove harmful tartar and plaque that daily brushing and flossing can miss.
During your visit, we will create an oral health plan based on your unique needs and schedule, as each person develops plaque and tarter at different rates.
Each patient will receive high quality care, specific to their personal needs. Flouride may be applied to help strengthen tooth enamel and increase resistance to cavities. Sealants may be used on teeth with deep grooves that are difficult for regular toothbrushes to clean. These are examples of various strategies we will apply to optimize your care and ensure you enjoy lifelong oral health.
